IONIA — The Ionia County Health Department is hosting a drive-thru flu vaccination event for residents.

The ICHD is offering drive-thru flu vaccinations for residents from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 17, and Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Ionia County Road Department, 170 E. Riverside Drive, in Ionia. Residents can receive a flu vaccine from their vehicle with no appointment or reservation necessary.

The ICHD will bill Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Blue Cross Medicare Part D and Medicaid. ICHD states those participating need to bring their insurance card with them.

The ICHD is requesting a $28 administrative fee for those who are uninsured or underinsured, but states no one will be turned away for their inability to pay.

“It is more important than ever to get your flu vaccination,” Ionia County Health Officer Ken Bowen stated. “Offering a drive-thru flu event in Ionia is a convenient and safe opportunity for everyone to get vaccinated.”

Those seeking more information can contact the Ionia County Health Department at 616-527-5341.
