COVID-19 virtual townhall to be held later this week

COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall Series, Answering questions for parents and families. Join us live on July 8 at noon.

Michigan State officials plan to hold a virtual town hall later this week to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine with parents and families.

Organizers of the event say the discussion will be centered around vaccine safety and its possible side effects. The event will be moderated by Veronica Mcnally, founder of the Franny Strong Foundation, and IVaccinate Program.

Michigan state officials want to spread more education around vaccine safety, protocols, and the importance of a COVID-19 shot. State officials say they are trying to keep the meeting as transparent as possible regarding the differences in the shots.

Michigan is still working towards its initial goal of getting at least 70 percent of residents vaccinated.

The meeting information and details will be announced later this week.

Recommended Immunization Schedules

These schedules list the age or age range when each vaccine or series of shots is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). If your child (birth through 6 years old) or adolescent (age 7 through 18 years old) has missed any shots, talk to your child’s doctor about getting back on track.

Michigan School & childcare Immunization Requirements

Request your child’s immunization record

The Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR), is an immunization registry managed by MDHHS and reported to by immunization providers. MCIR allows healthcare providers or individuals to access their immunization records regardless of their location in Michigan. This system also helps to track local and state immunization rates of Michigan residents to ensure immunity to vaccine-preventable illnesses. MCIR is a lifespan registry that includes infant through adult records.
