HEALTHY KIDS + I VACCINATE

Read Nina’s blog called HSS feed on why vaccination was right for her family:

I felt like, for us, that there wasn’t a conversation or decision on IF our boys would be vaccinated, but rather that was just how it was going to be and we knew that was the right thing to do for us. I’ve so often heard the benefits and risks, but we just felt that those benefits outweighed the risk for our boys and they are regularly vaccinated on the schedule recommended by their pediatrician – even though I absolutely hate watching the boys get shots (this is usually Clint’s job. I’m bad with needles!) because there are always tears!

I always feel like we’ve been informed and offered additional information at appointments, or had our questions answered by our doctors. So I’ve been comfortable with the decision we’ve made for the health of our boys. I would also say that part of our decision is that we also really like to control and manage the things we’re able to manage. And if we can do something to manage our kids’ risk of certain diseases, we wanted to be able to do that.

I realize that people have very strong opinions about this particular issue and I think that’s okay. I just encourage you to do the research before making a decision and be open to discussion with the experts that surround you when it comes to your health and the health of your family.
