With the flu and COVID-19 filling hospitals around the state, you can help stop that spread and keep yourself safe by completing one simple task – getting vaccinated.

Getting your annual flu shot will protect you and your loved ones from the flu, which is especially important as we continue to see new cases of COVID every day. Flu and COVID-19 are serious and deadly illnesses that you can take steps to avoid.

It’s easy, convenient and safe to schedule your COVID-19 and flu vaccines at the same time. Flu vaccinations are available at doctor’s offices, pharmacies and local health departments around the state.

Although no vaccine completely prevents the risk of falling ill, flu vaccinations prevent tens of thousands of hospitalizations each year. In recent years, the flu vaccines have reduced the risk of hospitalizations among adults by around 40%.

As we progress through the new year, keep yourself and others safe and stay up to date on your flu vaccine. We can control both COVID-19 and the flu but only if the population continues to get vaccinated.

It’s not too late to get your COVID-19 and flu vaccinations. If you have questions about these vaccines or others, make sure to seek out credible answers from sources such as IVaccinate.org.
