This story appeared in the Midland Daily News. Read the full story here.

The Midland County Health Department has scheduled its flu clinics for 2020. All clinics will be in the community this year in order to follow social distancing guidelines.

The clinics will open from 9 to 10 a.m. for people who are vulnerable and elderly. They then will open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for everyone.

Scheduled clinics will be held at the following:

Holiday Inn Conference Center, 810 Cinema Drive, Midland — Wednesday, Sept. 23; Wednesday, Oct. 7; Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Homer Township Fire Department, 222 S. Homer Road — Wednesday, Oct. 14; Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Wednesday, Nov. 18

There will be some drive-through services. People who would like to use this service, may go to www.co.midland.mi.us, and complete the flu form online. People are asked to bring a completed flu form with them to the clinic. People who are not able to do this, can still come to a clinic and let county health department staff know when they pull up and a staff member will complete a form. A two-person limit on vehicles using this service will be enforced. If there is a line, people are welcome to come inside the clinic.

The health department can vaccinate anyone 6 months of age or older. The following vaccines are available: Flumist, high dose flu and regular flu. People are asked to bring insurance cards. If the department is not able to bill insurance, or if a person does not have insurance, there will be no out of pocket cost to anyone who wants to get a flu shot.

Flu shots are also available by appointment in the health department immunization clinic by calling 989-832-6665.
