With the COVID-19 pandemic delaying some medical care in the past two years, parents should make appointments now to get their children caught up on vaccinations, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services urges.

In recognition of National Infant Immunization Week, DHHS reminds parents of the importance of on-time vaccination for small children to combat 14 vaccine-preventable diseases, including measles, hepatitis A, whooping cough, and influenza.

Parents should talk to their child’s health care provider about vaccines needed to stay protected.
